Reid School, accredited with the Northwest Association for Accredited Schools grades K through 12, provides a non-sectarian, independent private Middle School for Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Grade students.  Reid School has an established, spacious campus suited for both self-contained and departmentalized instruction in a safe environment.

Reid School has earned a reputation for excellence through a commitment to high academic and behavioral standards, and by providing a distinct program for early adolescents that is structured for successful matriculation into high school.  The curriculum has been carefully designed to provide a sound foundation upon which students can build well-adjusted and productive lives.  Communication regarding students’ achievement is continuous and meaningful – with parents and students viewed as partners in the educational process.

Guided by dedicated, qualified teachers, the expectation at Reid School is that students will exercise self-discipline, orderly living, and respect for people and property.  The faculty and staff support the concept of balance between freedom and responsibility, and they strive to cultivate interdependence as well as individuality in their students.  Students who qualify join the National Junior Honor Society.

Literature Kits are assembled to fucus study on specific authors/illustrators, literature genres, and topical themes.

A philosophy of educational equity is a vital part of the ongoing, daily educational standards at Reid School.  Students participate in a program dedicated to community service as well as share in the publication of a campus yearbook and newspaper.  School unity and pride are emphasized at Reid as students develop lasting friendships that continue into the high school years and beyond.

Reid Middle School curriculum continues all the core classes with many more excellent opportunities for students to excel academically, physically, and socially.

Additional Middle School benefits include but are not limited to:

  • Community Service – Students register in a full semester each year in community service.
  • A physical education program is provided so that all students actively participate in a separate class in which instruction in and development of the fundamental skills pertaining to athletics are taught.  The goals of this program include developing both those attributes related to good sportsmanship and a sense of team unity.  Students are provided the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive coed sports program that includes:  flag football, basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and lacrosse.  Additional sporting courses are offered, such as fencing and golf.
